Man arrested for posting edited ‘Headshot’ photo of PBBM

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a man in Pagadian City for reposting an edited photo of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. with the word “headshot” superimposed on it.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NBI–Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) said the suspect, identified as Michael Romero, also known as Mike Romero, was arrested on September 30 in Zamboanga del Sur. He is facing charges of inciting to sedition and violating Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Authorities said Romero’s Facebook post featured the image of President Marcos with a red arrow and the word “Headshot.”

After a two-day joint operation, agents from the NBI-CCD and NBI-Pagadian District Office tracked down Romero’s residence. He admitted ownership of the Facebook account “Mike Romero” and was immediately taken into custody.

Romero was later brought to the NBI-CCD office in Pasay City, where he underwent standard booking procedures.
