Commuters will soon have a more convenient way to travel between Metro Manila and nearby provinces, especially during holidays and vacation seasons, thanks to a new partnership between Park-Solutions, Inc. (PSI) and Del Monte Land Transport Bus Co., Inc. (DLTB).
Under their memorandum of agreement, the two companies will launch a mall-to-mall bus service connecting SM Malls in the National Capital Region to SM branches in parts of Luzon.
“This is a game-changer with regard to the riding public. It’s a mall-to-mall operation between SM Malls in Metro Manila and SM Malls at the outskirts of Metro Manila,” said DLTB Executive Vice President Don Morales during the signing ceremony in Pasay City.
Currently, operations are set between SM North EDSA and Batangas, with plans to expand routes from SM Fairview to SM Lucena. By early next year, DLTB plans to open more routes to Southern and Northern Luzon, including SM North EDSA to SM Clark, and SM Fairview to SM Naga and SM Legazpi.
Morales added that around 100 new buses—some equipped with comfort rooms—will be acquired to serve these routes. “This is very convenient for the passengers. Instead of going to bus terminals, they would rather go to SM malls and, in return, increase the foot traffic of mall goers,” he said.
PSI CEO Ferdinand Oroza shared that the company will also handle an automated booking system. “We will handle the automated purse system where they can book a mall-to-mall ride. It will be very convenient to the public since they will only have one stop – they can go to the mall, and wait for their ride,” Oroza said.
During peak travel seasons such as Undas, Christmas, and summer breaks, this setup aims to decongest traditional bus terminals and offer travelers a smoother, safer, and more organized commuting experience.
