The Malabon City government has intensified preparations for Undas 2026, with nearly 100,000 visitors expected to flock to cemeteries and columbaria from October 30 to November 2.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval urged residents and visitors to observe cemetery regulations and cooperate with authorities to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly commemoration of their departed loved ones.

“Habang inaalala natin ang ating mga mahal sa buhay, mahalaga ring maging responsable tayo at makiisa sa mga alituntunin para sa kaligtasan at kaayusan ng lahat,” Sandoval said.

Based on last year’s figures, the Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) projected approximately 98,463 cemetery visitors during the four-day observance.

During an October 15 coordination meeting, MDRRMO Officer-in-Charge Roderick Tongol presented the city’s preparedness plan, which includes establishing incident command posts, medical stations, and public assistance desks near major burial sites.

Police officers, firefighters, emergency responders, and traffic personnel will be deployed to maintain security, manage crowds, and respond to emergencies.

The City Environment and Natural Resources Office and City Engineering Department have also conducted cleanup operations, facility inspections, and perimeter fence repairs at Tugatog Public Cemetery.

Authorities reminded cemeterygoers that firearms, bladed weapons, alcoholic beverages, firecrackers, flammable materials, and other hazardous items are prohibited.

Loud music, videoke, gambling, smoking, vaping, overnight stays, unauthorized vending, and bringing pets into cemeteries are also banned.

Sandoval advised families to plan their visits, bring drinking water, secure personal belongings, and closely supervise children and elderly companions.

For emergencies, residents may contact the Malabon Command and Communication Center at 0942-372-9891 or 0919-062-5588.

City Administrator Alexander Rosete emphasized that public cooperation and vigilance are essential to ensuring a safe and meaningful Undas observance.

The city government said it would continue coordinating with law enforcement agencies, cemetery operators, and other stakeholders to maintain public safety throughout the commemoration.
