A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, on Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The tremor occurred at 8:19 a.m., with a depth of 546 kilometers. The PHIVOLCS attributed the quake to tectonic activity and warned that aftershocks could follow.
The agency has not yet released details on the earthquake’s intensity or specific impacts.
