The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is gearing up for a major digital transformation as it prepares to roll out the first phase of its online frontline services next month, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s push for faster, more efficient government transactions.

LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said information technology experts are now in the final stages of developing a unified system that will allow operators and drivers to process key transactions online—starting with vehicle confirmation for public transport units.

Mendoza said the agency is moving with a sense of urgency, noting that thousands of operators, drivers, and transport stakeholders rely on the LTFRB daily. By shifting to digital platforms, he said the agency aims to drastically cut waiting time, reduce long queues, and deliver services that are more convenient for both the sector and commuters.

He emphasized that the initiative comes less than two months after he took the helm of the LTFRB, underscoring a fast-tracked reform agenda designed to modernize operations and improve the commuting experience for millions of Filipinos.

The full digitalization will be implemented in stages, bringing more LTFRB services online in the months ahead. Mendoza said he is personally monitoring the rollout to ensure readiness across all regional and frontline offices nationwide.

The move also follows a series of consultations with transport groups, where issues such as unresolved petitions and long-pending motions were raised. To complement the digital shift, the LTFRB has begun consolidating around 37,000 pending cases—some dating back two years—with the goal of addressing them before the end of the year.
