The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has called a bus company to explain why passengers waited several hours at the Alabang terminal in Muntinlupa City.

The move follows a social media post reporting a lengthy delay on a bus bound for Lucena City, which drew attention from commuters and government authorities.

LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II said the behavior of the driver and conductor, as described in the post, was unacceptable and needed to be addressed.

Passengers reportedly boarded the bus around 10 p.m. and were repeatedly told it would depart shortly, but ticketing only began around 12:30 a.m.

After waiting over three hours, one passenger attempted to refund the fare but was refused by the conductor.

The LTFRB issued a show cause order requiring the bus company to submit a notarized explanation within 10 days on why its franchise should not face suspension or cancellation.

The company is also required to attend a hearing at the LTFRB Central Office scheduled for March 19.

Mendoza said the agency encourages commuters to report any violations or improper conduct by drivers and conductors.

He added that documenting complaints allows authorities to investigate and address issues effectively.

The summons demonstrates the LTFRB’s ongoing effort to ensure commuter services meet established standards and accountability is maintained.
