The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board–National Capital Region (LTFRB-NCR) conducted a public consultation Thursday on transport terminal inspections, roadworthiness of public utility vehicles (PUVs), and enforcement operations.
The activity was led by Regional Director Atty. Zona Russet Tamayo and aimed to address safety and operational standards for public transport services.
Thirty-five Transport Service Entities (TSEs), totaling 61 participants, attended the session to discuss regulatory concerns and operational challenges.
Officials said the consultation provided an opportunity for stakeholders to clarify existing policies and raise issues affecting the public transport sector.
Tamayo described the activity as the first batch of consultations and said it would serve as a basis for improving policy development and program implementation.
LTFRB-NCR highlighted that the engagement aimed to strengthen compliance with vehicle roadworthiness and enforcement procedures.
Officials added that regular consultations with stakeholders are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the safety, reliability, and quality of public transport services in Metro Manila.
