TAGUIG CITY — The Department of Energy (DOE) has trained 300 student leaders and advisers from 122 schools in Taguig and Pateros to promote responsible and efficient energy consumption.

Through its Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (CWPO), the DOE conducted the Energy Smart Kids Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity at Lakeshore in Taguig City, in partnership with the Schools Division of Taguig and Pateros.

The initiative welcomed 300 new “Energy Cost Busters,” who were equipped with knowledge and practical ways to conserve electricity and adopt energy-efficient habits.

The program aims to encourage young Filipinos to become advocates of energy conservation by applying responsible energy practices at home, in schools, and within their communities.

By engaging student leaders and their advisers, the DOE seeks to expand awareness of energy efficiency and encourage participants to share what they have learned with their fellow students and families.

The Energy Smart Kids initiative forms part of the department’s continuing efforts to promote energy awareness and strengthen public participation in responsible energy consumption.

The DOE emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation to help build a more energy-conscious and sustainable future.
