The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) issued a show cause order to the operator and driver of a passenger bus involved in a road crash in Camarines Sur that injured several passengers.
The order directed the operator of Raymond Transportation to submit a written explanation on why its Certificate of Public Convenience should not be suspended or revoked in connection with the incident.
LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza said the proceeding would allow both the operator and the driver to present their explanations as part of the investigation.
He noted that the outcome of the case would depend on the findings of the inquiry.
The order also required the operator to present the driver involved in the crash, which occurred at around 5 a.m. on April 25 along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sigamot, Libmanan.
As part of the initial requirements, the driver was instructed to undergo a drug test and attend a road safety seminar.
The operator was directed to submit documents related to the maintenance of the bus unit involved.
A hearing was scheduled on May 14, with the board stating that nonappearance may be treated as a waiver, while regional officials were also instructed to assist injured passengers in processing insurance claims.
