A low-pressure area and the easterlies were expected to bring rain to several parts of the country on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was located over the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay, as of 3 a.m.
The weather disturbance was not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone while inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or as it moved across the country.
Despite its low chance of intensifying, the LPA was forecast to produce cloudy skies and scattered rain over Metro Manila, the Bicol Region, Calabarzon and parts of Mimaropa.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the system would cross land and continue affecting areas along its path.
The easterlies, or warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean, were also expected to bring rain to Cagayan and Isabela.
The Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley were forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.
Other parts of the country were also expected to experience cloudy conditions and localized thunderstorms.
