Liza, Imee Marcos deny insulting each other

First Lady Liza Marcos and Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday denied making disparaging remarks about each other’s appearance.

The First Lady called “fake news” a quote card attributed to her, which supposedly criticized her sister-in-law for alleged cosmetic procedures.

Senator Marcos also disowned a quote card referencing the First Lady’s physique.

Earlier this week, she accused her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and his family of drug use. Without offering proof, she claimed, “Mas lumala ang pagkalulong… dahil parehas pala silang mag-asawa,” and urged her brother to “come home.”

Her allegations came during the Iglesia ni Cristo rally demanding accountability over the flood control scandal involving government officials and lawmakers.

Malacañang responded that resignation was not an option for the President. Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said, “The President is still working and keeps on working for the country so hindi po option sa administrasyon, sa Pangulo ang pagbibitiw.”

She added, “Ang Pangulo ay matapang na haharapin kung anuman ang suliranin ng bansa at silang mga nag-iingay, sila ay ingay lamang.”
