LAGAWE, Ifugao – Rice assistance for 10,000 qualified households in Alfonso Lista is being distributed through the municipality’s barangay local government units.
The assistance is provided under the Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) Fiscal Year 2026 Rice Assistance Subsidy Program, with each beneficiary household receiving 10 kilograms of rice.
The Alfonso Lista municipal government turned over the distribution to barangay officials, who are responsible for setting the schedules for their respective communities.
Several barangays have already begun distributing the assistance, while others are conducting the activity alongside barangay assemblies for easier access by beneficiaries.
Namillangan Punong Barangay Oswald Natuno thanked the government, local officials, volunteers and residents for their cooperation in carrying out the distribution.
He said minor challenges encountered during the activity were immediately addressed and could serve as lessons for improving future distributions.
San Juan Punong Barangay Sherwin Dela Cruz said the rice assistance would help ease some of the daily expenses of beneficiary families.
“Although this may be a simple form of assistance, we hope that it will bring relief and benefit to every family who receives it,” Dela Cruz said.
San Juan and Namillangan are among the municipality’s 20 barangays that have already distributed the rice aid to qualified households.
