Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Wednesday that the public could hear the “delicious” details behind alleged irregularities in infrastructure projects in Taguig once the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee holds its hearings.
Lacson made the remark on X after Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano described the accusations involving Taguig projects as “malicious” and joked that the word also sounded “delicious.”
He said the hearings could disclose findings from five Taguig case studies that his office had submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman.
Lacson earlier said his staff turned over documentary and testimonial evidence that could support complaints for plunder, malversation and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
His office alleged that its inquiry found possible ghost projects, duplicate appropriations and the reuse of photographs from completed contracts to support billing for other projects in Taguig.
Cayetano denied that Taguig had ghost projects and described Lacson’s accusations as general and sweeping.
He also said he was prepared to answer the allegations through the proper process, adding that the public deserved to know the full facts.
Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chair Erwin Tulfo said the panel was considering a hearing on alleged flood control anomalies, including the Taguig projects raised by Lacson.
