As dengue cases rise sharply in Quezon City, KWIK Multi-Insect Killer has taken immediate action by launching a targeted education and product distribution campaign in Barangay Commonwealth. This effort is part of a larger initiative by KWIK to help protect Filipino households from dengue-carrying mosquitoes, extending across 12 barangays in Metro Manila—including Pasay, Parañaque, Mandaluyong, and other areas in Quezon City.

The campaign comes in response to a declared dengue outbreak in Quezon City, where the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (CESD) reported a dramatic 283% increase in dengue cases compared to last year. Between January 1 and February 14, 2025, a total of 1,769 cases were recorded, resulting in at least 10 fatalities.

In response to this public health emergency, the KWIK team mobilized to deliver door-to-door education and distribute insecticide products to residents. Partnering with local barangay officials, they held information sessions on how dengue spreads, early warning signs, and practical prevention measures. Residents learned how to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and were given KWIK insecticide products as an added layer of protection.

This initiative is being replicated in 11 other high-risk barangays across Metro Manila as part of KWIK’s ongoing public health campaign.

Catherine Perez, Product Manager at Consumer Care Products Incorporated, emphasized the importance of combining awareness with accessibility.

“Our work in Barangay Commonwealth is part of a much broader campaign across multiple cities in Metro Manila. By empowering communities with knowledge and effective solutions, we hope to make a real difference in preventing the spread of dengue,” said Perez.

The educational sessions also highlighted common mosquito breeding grounds—such as stagnant water in old tires, clogged gutters, and uncovered containers—urging residents to remain vigilant. Attendees were educated on key dengue symptoms like high fever, severe headache, muscle pain, and rashes, with a call to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms arise.

“Community engagement is critical in fighting dengue,” Perez added. “Prevention starts at home, and with the right tools—like KWIK—every Filipino family can protect themselves.”

Residents and barangay leaders warmly welcomed the initiative, thanking KWIK for its timely intervention. As the summer months approach, KWIK plans to expand its efforts to more high-risk communities to reinforce its core message: “Basta KWIK, Tapos ang Kalaban”—a trusted solution against mosquitoes, houseflies, and cockroaches.

KWIK Multi-Insect Killer Blue Variant (water-based) is available in 300ml (PhP162.80), 500ml (PhP239.50), and 600ml (PhP281.00) cans at major supermarkets nationwide and through online platforms like CCPI Shop, Lazada, and Shopee.
