Kris Aquino shares support from friends amid breakup with Doc Mike Padlan

Kris Aquino recently shared messages of support from her fans and friends after going public with her breakup with Makati Medical Center doctor Mike Padlan. In her Instagram post on April 6, Kris revealed a heartfelt message from entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz, who apologized to her ex-boyfriend for remarks that he made, which Doc Mike found offensive.

Kris posted, “My pareng Ogie had an opinion that Doc Mike found offensive. Since coming home, I only reached out to my kumpare yesterday. He was very gracious and said: ‘Mare, sorry na-stress ka pa. Dr. Padlan sorry dahil naging masama ang dating ng kumento ko sa yo. Nakakapanghinayang, sa ‘kin unang umamin si Mare na may boyfriend syang duktor at nasabi nyang YOU MADE HER FEEL SAFE. Para mas mabilis ang paggaling mo na pinagdarasal ng marami- hindi ko na sya pag-uusapan. Sorry talaga, Mare, hindi mo kailangan ng stress- bagong opera ka pa man din.’”

In the post, Kris also expressed gratitude to her ex-boyfriend for his support during her medical procedures, particularly when he was there while she underwent a PICC line change. She explained, “Thank you Dr. Mike Padlan, I was told I was sedated when you entered the OR. I’m sad that you declined to remain as one of my lead physicians, but I understand what you meant when you said to ‘LET ME GO’.”

Kris clarified that she wasn’t a demanding patient and opened up about her struggle with multiple autoimmune diseases. “Yesterday I had my PICC line changed, contrary to what you may assume, I am NOT a ‘diva’ patient,” she shared. She also reflected on the difficulty of processing her diagnoses, which now include nine autoimmune diseases, five of which could be life-threatening.

Before closing her post, Kris expressed her gratitude for the kindness of friends who have been sending her food and helping her regain her appetite. She thanked friends like Anne Binay, Dr. Katcee, Jessica Soho, Chef Jessie, and others for their thoughtful gestures, noting that her weight had now increased to 88 pounds, which she considered a “win.”

Kris concluded with appreciation for those praying for her and expressing their concern, saying, “God helps those who help themselves.”
