Korean national wanted for carnapping arrested in Angeles City

The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO-3) said on Monday that a Korean national was arrested on charges of carnapping.

Jaehoon Yoo, 43, was taken into custody on Sunday at a bar in Barangay Balibago by officers from Police Station 4 of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), PRO-3 added.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Rodrigo Ido Del Rosario of Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch 114.

The suspect is facing charges under Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law. The court set his bail at P300,000.

“This arrest serves as a strong reminder that anyone who violates Philippine laws will be held accountable,” PRO-3 director, Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, said in a statement.

Fajardo warned foreign nationals against engaging in illegal activities in the country, stressing that Central Luzon will not tolerate criminals or serve as a safe haven for them.

“No one is above the law, and we will continue our relentless pursuit of individuals attempting to evade justice,” Fajardo said.
