The Korean community in the Philippines grieves the death of a Korean national after becoming a victim of a robbery in Angeles City.
A CCTV camera caught the incident around 1:50 in the afternoon, where the victim was standing in front of the bank with a friend when two men approached on a motorcycle.
The passenger snatched the sling bag of the victim’s friend. The contents of the bag were the friend’s passport, cash amounting to P5,000, and a cellphone.
The Korean men tried to take the bag back, however, the suspect fired a shot which hit the Korean national and then proceeded to flee the scene quickly.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
In response, the Angeles City government promptly met with the police and gave them a 72-hour deadline to solve the killing.
This was the first ever case of a Korean national passing away due to “holdapping” in Pampanga, which caused the residents to worry.
