South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo has recently entered a new chapter in his career as a special house guest in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition. Greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, Ji Soo was welcomed into Bahay ni Kuya by housemates including Charlie Fleming and Bianca De Vera.
His arrival marked a milestone, as he became the first non-Filipino celebrity to join this season. In the confession room, he expressed his excitement about making new friends and shared that turning 32 this year makes him feel like a “Kuya” figure to the other housemates.
The atmosphere quickly turned festive, with housemates organizing an energetic welcome performance featuring the iconic Filipino song “Sikat Ang Pinoy.” Ji Soo’s presence sparked instant camaraderie, and viewers watching the 24/7 livestream saw the housemates include him in their group chat and plan a Korean samgyeopsal feast to celebrate their growing friendship.
His smooth integration into the group has showcased his charm and friendly personality, making him a natural fit in the Filipino reality TV setting.
Ji Soo’s acting career began in 2009 on stage before transitioning into short films, one of which was the Korean-Filipino project Seoul Mates. He gained widespread recognition with his role in the high school drama Angry Mom in 2015. From there, he starred in a string of popular series such as Cheer Up!, Page Turner, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and Strong Woman Do Bong-soon. His performances demonstrated a range of talent, from romantic leads to intense dramatic roles, solidifying his reputation in the South Korean entertainment industry.
In 2020, Ji Soo signed with KeyEast Entertainment, but a year later, he faced controversy over allegations of school bullying, which led to his removal from the series River Where the Moon Rises and the termination of his contract.
He quietly enlisted for military service later that year, serving as a public service worker after basic training. This period marked a pause in his career, but also set the stage for a redemptive comeback.
By mid-2024, Ji Soo re-emerged in the entertainment scene—this time in the Philippines. He began making appearances on GMA Network, featuring in the action drama Black Rider and the medical series Abot-Kamay na Pangarap. His growing connection to the Philippine audience was solidified when he signed with Sparkle, GMA’s talent agency, in August 2024.
Now stepping into the spotlight on Pinoy Big Brother, Ji Soo is not only rebuilding his career but also creating heartfelt connections in a new cultural landscape—an exciting transformation that continues to unfold.
