The much-awaited reunion of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino on-screen has finally taken shape with the release of the first teaser photos for their newest series The Alibi, a suspense-driven romance that promises to keep viewers on edge.

Unveiled by Prime Video Philippines through Instagram on Wednesday, the images teased a darker narrative for the popular tandem. One shot shows Chiu in a daring red sequined mask and top, commanding the stage with a pole-dance performance, while Avelino’s character observes her with an unreadable expression—hinting at a relationship charged with mystery and danger.

Helmed by veteran directors FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin with a screenplay penned by Danica Mae Domingo, The Alibi is set against a backdrop of power, wealth, and carefully concealed secrets. The series, according to its synopsis, “walks the thin line between love and betrayal, protection and deception.”

The story also raises a haunting question: How far will someone go to shield the people they love—and how much of the truth are they willing to bury?

While the official premiere date remains under wraps, the project boasts a stellar supporting cast including Zsa Zsa Padilla, John Arcilla, Sam Milby, Rafael Rosell, Sofia Andres, Robbie Jaworski, and Angelina Cruz.

For fans of the KimPau tandem, The Alibi marks another milestone in their growing legacy. Their pairing first captured audiences in 2023’s thriller Linlang, then followed up with the Filipino remake of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim in 2024. Earlier this year, they headlined the romantic mystery film My Love Will Make You Disappear, which went on to gross ₱173 million globally.

Now, with The Alibi, Chiu and Avelino are set to prove once more why their partnership continues to attract a loyal following—this time, by diving into the shadows of passion and peril.
