Love is in full bloom for basketball star Kai Sotto and actress Rere Madrid as the couple marks their first anniversary!
On Instagram, Kai melted hearts as he shared sweet snaps from one of their amusement park dates, paired with a heartfelt message for the Sparkle actress.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year already. So many challenges we faced and I’m proud of both of us for overcoming every obstacle that came in our way. I’m so grateful for your love — you make everything brighter just by being you,” Kai wrote.
The 7’3” baller got poetic, sharing just how deeply Rere means to him:
“Thinking of you keeps me awake, dreaming of you keeps me asleep, and being with you keeps me alive.”
Capping off the post with a romantic declaration, Kai added,
“Happy first anniversary to my dream girl! I love you my Athenah — loved you yesterday, love you still, always have, always will.”
The couple first hard-launched their relationship in July 2024 during the GMA Gala, and have since been openly sharing their love story online — from beach getaways to Valentine’s Day celebrations.
Earlier this year, Kai also publicly thanked Rere for standing by him through one of his toughest moments — recovering from an ACL injury. Her support, he said, made a huge difference in his journey.
With one year down and a future full of possibilities, it’s clear that Kai and Rere are in it for the long run — proving that love, like basketball, is all about teamwork, trust, and heart.
