Jollibee turned the International Day of Happiness into a nationwide celebration of smiles, surprises, and shared moments as it marked its first-ever National Day of JOY on March 20.
The country’s leading fast-food chain brought its message of happiness to life through a mix of community outreach, mall festivities, and online activities, encouraging Filipinos to spread joy in simple but meaningful ways.
“Jollibee has always been about serving great-tasting food and sharing the joy of eating with everyone. That’s why International Day of Happiness is so special for us because it reminds us why we do what we do,” said Dorothy Ching, vice president for marketing of Jollibee Philippines. “National Day of JOY gives us the chance to celebrate those moments and inspire everyone to share happiness. It can be as simple as a family meal, a child’s birthday, or a small act of kindness. Every day, we have the power to brighten someone’s world, and that’s what we want to celebrate together.”
At the heart of the celebration was a lively event at One Ayala in Makati, where the iconic Jollibee mascot delighted families and friends with warm hugs, photo opportunities, and complimentary Crunchy Chicken Sandwiches. The gathering quickly turned into a cheerful space filled with laughter, with guests sharing lighthearted moments not only with loved ones but even with complete strangers.
But the celebration stretched far beyond the mall. Jollibee also brought its National Day of JOY to orphanages and elderly care facilities across the country, reaching communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Among the beneficiaries were Missionaries of the Poor in Manila, Little Angels Home Inc. in South Luzon, Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness in North Luzon, Ramon Durano Foundation Home for the Aged in the Visayas, and Davao Veil Geriatric Home Care in Mindanao.
In each visit, the brand delivered more than just food. Children lit up as they received treats, while senior citizens welcomed the surprise visits with stories, smiles, and heartfelt embraces. The outreach underscored how even the simplest acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.
Online, the celebration continued as Filipinos shared their own joyful moments on Facebook, posting family gatherings, playful selfies, and memorable Jollibee experiences. A trending X Party also rallied fans of Jollibee endorsers and the public to share videos and stories that captured the spirit of happiness, creating a digital wave of positivity across the country.
Adding to the excitement was the “Choose Your JOY” delivery promo, which gave households even more reason to celebrate. Customers who ordered through the Jollibee App or order.jollibee.com enjoyed free delivery for orders worth more than P500, while those with orders above P300 received a free Peach Mango Pie.
Through a celebration that was both festive and heartfelt, Jollibee’s first National Day of JOY highlighted the brand’s enduring role not just as a food favorite, but as a source of connection and happiness for Filipinos everywhere. With every hug, treat, and shared story, Jollibee reminded the country that joy can be found in everyday moments—and that it becomes even more meaningful when shared.
