Actor JC Alcantara had a memorable experience during his trip to Japan, where he saw snow for the first time. In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, he shared how emotional he felt upon finally witnessing snow, a long-held dream of his. “Yung memorable sa Japan, ‘yung nagpunta ako noon sa kung saan nag-snow. First time ko na ma-experience ‘yun,” he recalled, expressing his desire to surprise himself while riding the bullet train. Accompanied by his brother Paolo, the trip coincided with his birthday last January. Stepping onto the snow brought him to tears. “Sabi ko, sabi ko kasi sa kapitid ko, tumingin ka. So gusto ko ma-surprise ako, and pagtapak ko sa snow, umiiyak ako. Para akong bata na pangarap ko talagang makakita ng snow,” he added.
JC shared moments from the trip on social media, posting photos of himself snowboarding and enjoying the winter scenery. “experiencing snow for the first time #Japan #galayuzawa #Snow #winter,” he wrote. He enjoys traveling both locally and abroad, often embarking on solo adventures to unwind. “Masaya, kasi minsan nagtatravel din ako alone. Sanay ako mag-travel alone. Parang doon ko na ibubuhos lahat, na parang walang pakialam sa akin ‘yung mundo,” he shared, noting that traveling helps him decompress after taking on emotionally demanding roles.
“Sobrang kailangan noon, kasi alam naman natin sa showbiz, maraming kailangang anuhin sa karakter… Kaya ako nagtra-travel na rin para makawala sa mga karakter na ginagawa ko,” he explained.
JC also expressed gratitude for the continued support of his fans and loved ones. “Alam nyo, hindi ko kayo makakalimutan. Kahit saan man ako magpunta, palagi ko kayong ina-update. Salamat pa rin sa pagmamahal at support niya. Thank you. Love you,” he stated.
Recently, JC took on the role of Richard De Castro in “Wish Date: Refrain,” a unique concert series that combines film, live theater, and musical performances. On Instagram, he expressed his happiness about returning to the stage. “Sobrang happy ko na makatungtong ulit ng stage. Para makapaginspire at magpasaya ng mga tao!” he wrote, appreciating the joy and excitement of the audience.
Reflecting on the challenges of live acting, JC noted, “Ang pinakaimportante dito yung kailangan kabisado mo ‘yung script… Nung first time ko, kinakabahan ako.” He emphasized the need to stay focused amidst the crowd’s excitement, ensuring he was aware of everything happening around him.
