Presidential Communications Office (PCO) acting Secretary Jay Ruiz on Monday denied reports suggesting that he is on his way out as head of Malacañang’s communications arm.
Speaking to reporters at the Palace, Ruiz dismissed the speculation that he would be reassigned to the Presidential Action Center or replaced as PCO chief. “I always serve at the pleasure of the President,” he stated.
Ruiz emphasized that he remains focused on leading the PCO unless otherwise instructed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. “Whatever happens, I will be forever grateful for the opportunity,” he added.
The President reappointed Ruiz as acting secretary of the PCO on June 16 after he was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments. Ruiz, a former broadcast journalist, assumed the role as head of the agency last February and is the fourth PCO chief under the Marcos administration.
