Consumers will benefit from reduced transmission charges in their electricity bills this month, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said on Wednesday.
In a media briefing, NGCP reported that the overall average transmission rate for the December 2025 supply period dropped by 0.68 percent, from P1.3547 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to P1.3455 per kWh.
Ancillary service costs, which cover power sourced from the reserve market and contracted generators, also fell to 59 centavos per kWh from last month’s 62 centavos per kWh.
“For the January 2026 electric bill of end consumers, NGCP charges only 60 centavos per kWh for the delivery of its services,” the company said.
Transmission fees are included in bills issued by distribution utilities and electric cooperatives across the country.
Manila Electric Co., the nation’s largest power distributor, earlier said it would implement an additional rate cut for January, reducing electricity rates to P12.9508 per kWh.
The NGCP rate adjustment is part of routine recalculations to reflect actual costs of transmission services and ancillary support to the grid.
