IWG ventures into healthcare with APECO super health center in Aurora

Global flexible workspace leader International Workplace Group (IWG) is entering the healthcare sector for the first time through a partnership with the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO).

The agreement, signed Tuesday in Taguig City by APECO President and CEO Atty. Gil G. Taway IV and IWG Philippines Country Manager Rowena Natividad, gives IWG the green light to operate the PHP16.83-million Super Health Center in Casiguran.

Funded by APECO, the facility will provide vital healthcare services for the ecozone community and potential investors. It is also seen as a stepping stone toward developing retirement facilities under the “Silver Town” concept.

“This partnership marks IWG’s first business model outside flexible offices,” Taway said. “That they chose APECO as the starting point underscores rising investor confidence in Bagong APECO and highlights the potential of Aurora as a global investment destination.”

Natividad noted that Aurora’s location and natural environment position it as an ideal hub for health and wellness. “This project will enhance local access to quality care while creating new opportunities for medical and retirement investments,” she said.

APECO, under new leadership, has adopted what Taway described as a “bold, proactive strategy” to unlock public assets through private co-developments and public-private partnerships.
