Manila City Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso has authorized the release of ₱476.49 million in social allowance payouts for senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), with distribution scheduled from January 28 to 30, 2026.
The mayor announced the payout during a Facebook livestream on Wednesday, January 21, saying the release will settle several months of delayed benefits accumulated in late 2025. According to Domagoso, the January payout will cover allowances for solo parents and PWDs from September to December 2025, while senior citizens will receive payments for October to December 2025.
“Nabawasan na po si Judith,” the mayor said during the broadcast, using a light remark to emphasize that the city has significantly reduced its backlog of unpaid allowances.
City records show that a total of 282,040 beneficiaries are expected to receive assistance during the three-day payout period. This includes senior citizens, solo parents, adult PWDs, and PWD minors across all six districts of Manila.
Domagoso said the latest release brings the total amount disbursed by the city since his return to office on June 30, 2025 to more than ₱1.1 billion, reflecting what he described as the administration’s commitment to restoring and sustaining social welfare programs.
Distribution will be conducted by district to ensure orderly processing. Beneficiaries from Districts 1 and 2 are scheduled to receive their allowances on January 28, followed by Districts 3 and 4 on January 29, and Districts 5 and 6 on January 30. The schedule applies to all beneficiary groups.
A breakdown of the figures presented during the announcement shows that 205,505 senior citizens will collectively receive ₱325.84 million for their October to December 2025 allowances. Meanwhile, ₱33.35 million has been allocated for 16,673 solo parents, and ₱97.46 million for 49,687 adult PWDs, both covering the period from September to December 2025.
An additional ₱19.85 million has been earmarked for 10,175 PWD minors, bringing the total January 2026 payout to ₱476.49 million.
The mayor also cited validation from the City Treasurer’s Office indicating that more than ₱700.31 million in allowances and pensions for senior citizens, PWDs, and solo parents had already been released from July to December 2025. This figure includes both city-funded assistance and national government social pensions coursed through the Manila city government.
