Iran’s armed forces denied carrying out any recent missile or drone strikes against the United Arab Emirates, according to Iranian state media IRIB.
A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said no such operations had been conducted and stressed that any military action would have been officially announced. He also dismissed accusations from the UAE defense authorities, calling them baseless.
The same official warned that if any attack were launched against Iran from UAE territory, Tehran would respond with what he described as a decisive and regret-inducing retaliation.
He further accused the UAE of allowing US and Israeli military forces to operate from its territory, and urged Emirati authorities not to serve as a platform for hostile actors.
On the other hand, UAE authorities reported that their air defense systems had intercepted multiple waves of missiles, cruise missiles, and drones which they attributed to Iran. They also said this followed a second consecutive day of similar incidents.
Officials earlier reported that one of the strikes had triggered a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, though no further damage details were immediately confirmed.
Tensions in the region have remained elevated since US and Israeli forces carried out strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, which led to Iranian retaliation and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. A ceasefire was reached on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, but negotiations in Islamabad failed to secure a lasting agreement, while the truce was later extended by US President Donald Trump without a fixed end date.
Since April 13, the United States has also imposed a naval blockade targeting Iranian maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, further intensifying regional tensions.
