Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched attacks on two military bases in Kuwait early Monday as tensions with the United States continued to escalate.

In a statement, the IRGC claimed it struck Ali Al-Salem Air Base and Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base, saying the operation targeted fuel storage facilities, Patriot air defense systems, and a radar installation.

The IRGC said the attacks formed part of the third phase of its ongoing military campaign, which it described as a response to recent US strikes on Iranian targets.

It also warned against further US military activity in the Strait of Hormuz, saying Iran would oppose continued foreign military operations in the area.

Kuwait’s General Staff said its air defense systems engaged hostile aerial targets within the country’s airspace. It added that explosions reported by residents were caused by interception operations and urged the public to follow official safety advisories.

The developments came shortly before the US Central Command announced the completion of a new round of strikes against Iran.

CENTCOM said the operation targeted dozens of military and infrastructure sites to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The exchange marked the latest escalation in the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran, following reciprocal military attacks in recent days.
