Iran accused the United States of committing war crimes by striking civilian infrastructure during its continuing military operations against the country.
In a statement carried by state broadcaster IRIB, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Washington had intensified its attacks in recent days while also imposing a naval blockade.
The ministry argued that the blockade violated US commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, which had been brokered by Pakistan to ease the conflict.
Tehran said the US strikes had deliberately targeted facilities with civilian functions, including food, manufacturing and maritime infrastructure.
Among the sites reportedly hit were a grain storage facility in Hoveyzeh, a mineral water plant in Musian and a maritime control tower in Chabahar used to assist fishermen.
Iran also said a US attack struck near a children’s cancer hospital in Ahvaz on Wednesday, describing the incident as a grave assault on civilian safety.
The Foreign Ministry maintained that the attacks violated the United Nations Charter and basic principles of international law.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei earlier warned that Iran would respond directly and decisively as tensions with the United States continued to escalate over the Strait of Hormuz.
