The Iloilo City government on Monday turned over six brand-new patrol vehicles to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), the first batch of 12 units pledged under the “Buy 1, Give 1” initiative of Interior Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla.
Mayor Raisa Treñas said the vehicles, worth ₱9.7 million from the city’s peace and order fund, will boost local security, especially with Iloilo set to host the ASEAN Summit next year.
“We will give six more units to further enhance the capacity of our police,” Treñas said during the turnover ceremony.
ICPO Director Col. Kim Legada thanked the city government, noting the new units would strengthen their ability to protect the Ilonggo community.
“These new patrol vehicles are more than just assets; they represent the trust of the people of Iloilo City through the support of our local government. Rest assured, ICPO will use them to ensure peace, safety, and security for all,” Legada said.
The vehicles will be distributed to ICPS 10 (two units) and ICPS 1, 3, 6, and 7 (one unit each).
