The Iligan City government has distributed over ₱2.5 million in cash gifts to its elderly beneficiaries, Mayor Frederick Siao announced Tuesday.
According to the Office of Senior Citizens’ Affairs, 245 seniors aged 80 to 95 received ₱10,000 each, while a centenarian was granted ₱100,000 as mandated by law.
Siao expressed full support for the program initiated by the National Commission of Senior Citizens and vowed to align local policies with national directives.
He also highlighted plans for the Senior Citizens Community Care Center (SC3C), an upcoming facility designed to provide community-driven wellness initiatives for the elderly.
