Innovation met style at HUAWEI’s grand Asia-Pacific launch in Bangkok, where the tech giant unveiled a new wave of cutting-edge devices under the banner “Fashion Next.” Leading the lineup: the HUAWEI Pura 80 Series, a smartphone built to transform the way we capture the world.
Also taking the spotlight was the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition (2025), a sleek productivity powerhouse designed for users on the move.
The event wasn’t just about tech — it was a celebration of creativity. HUAWEI’s XMAGE APAC showcase highlighted extraordinary photography from across the region, reinforcing its commitment to visual storytelling. The company also announced that the XMAGE global exhibition and awards ceremony will return to Paris later this year under the theme “The World, You and Me.”
Reimagining smartphone photography
Held at One Bangkok Forum, the event gathered HUAWEI fans, media, partners, and influencers to witness the launch of the HUAWEI Pura 80 Series — a smartphone that sets a new benchmark for mobile imaging.
“Huawei is driven by a mission to go beyond innovation. We want to empower people to tell stories, spark emotion, and connect lives through technology,” said Peter Liu, Director of Flagship Handsets GTM at HUAWEI.

To prove that vision, HUAWEI set up an immersive low-light experience zone, where attendees could put the new devices to the test. The Pura 80 Ultra wowed the crowd with its stunning clarity and color even in challenging lighting — thanks to its revolutionary Night Zoom and Ultra Lighting HDR.

Switchable cual telephoto: A world first
Photography enthusiasts will find plenty to love in the Pura 80 Ultra’s industry-first Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera, which offers both 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom on a shared 1/1.28-inch ultra-large sensor. The system allows smooth transitions between zoom levels with crystal-clear detail and consistent color — a long-awaited breakthrough in mobile camera tech.
Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Pro inherits the legendary 1-inch sensor of the Ultra, ensuring excellent low-light shots and vivid close-ups with its Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera and Ultra Chroma imaging system.
Precision design meets everyday durability
Inside the Pura 80 Ultra lies one of HUAWEI’s most sophisticated camera modules ever: 143 components and over 150 intricate manufacturing steps. Dual prisms and a four-lens system enable optical transitions that rival DSLR quality.
Beyond the camera, durability takes center stage with 2nd-Gen Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass — boasting 25 times better drop resistance and 16 times more scratch protection. On the software front, intelligent features like AI Messaging, AI Gesture Control, and AI Best Expression redefine how naturally users can interact with their devices.
And coming soon: the AI Remove tool, which uses generative AI to erase unwanted people or objects from photos, filling in the background so cleanly it’s like they were never there.

MatePad 11.5 (2025): Work, create, and collaborate anywhere
Also introduced in Bangkok was the refreshed HUAWEI MatePad 11.5-inch (2025) — a lightweight yet powerful tablet built for go-anywhere productivity. With its glare-free PaperMatte Display and newly upgraded Magnetic Keyboard, the MatePad is designed for students and professionals alike.
Thanks to full-featured WPS Office support, users can edit, format, and present documents just like they would on a laptop — making it a serious tool for getting work done on the go.
All the apps you need in one place
HUAWEI’s AppGallery remains a central part of the experience, offering a curated collection of top apps in travel, lifestyle, entertainment, finance, and productivity — tailored for every kind of user.
