Kristin Cabot, the woman who went viral for an awkward moment on the ‘kiss cam’ at a Coldplay concert, has resigned from her executive position at New York-based AI firm Astronomer—just days after former CEO Andy Byron, her companion in the clip, also stepped down.
The pair were caught cuddling during Coldplay’s July 16 show at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. But when they realized they were being projected on the big screen, things took a turn. Cabot quickly turned her back and covered her face while Byron scrambled to duck out of sight—prompting frontman Chris Martin to joke mid-performance that the two were “either having an affair or just very shy.”
The clip exploded online, spawning memes, reactions, and parodies. The internet had a field day, with many speculating on the nature of their relationship—especially since both are reportedly married.
Following the frenzy, Astronomer placed both executives on leave and launched an internal investigation. Byron soon tendered his resignation and was swiftly removed from the company’s leadership page.
Cabot, who joined the company as Chief People Officer in November, officially resigned a few days later, according to a statement from the firm.
Astronomer co-founder and interim chief Pete DeJoy addressed the situation on LinkedIn, writing, “The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies ever encounter. The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team, and while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”
Neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly commented on the incident.
