Warm and humid conditions are expected to continue across much of the Visayas over the next several days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said temperatures in parts of the region could rise to as high as 34 degrees Celsius from May 7 to May 11 as easterlies continue to affect the country.

The weather bureau said generally fair skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail across Western, Central, and Eastern Visayas during the period.

In Western Visayas, Iloilo and Guimaras were forecast to experience temperatures ranging from 26 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius, while Capiz, Aklan, and Antique may see temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius.

Central Visayas provinces such as Cebu and Bohol were expected to record temperatures between 26 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius. Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental could experience warmer conditions, with temperatures climbing to 34 degrees Celsius.

In Eastern Visayas, Samar may continue to experience temperatures reaching 34 degrees Celsius until Monday, while Biliran could record up to 33 degrees Celsius. Leyte and Southern Leyte were forecast to remain between 24 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius.

Pagasa said isolated afternoon and evening rain showers may still occur due to localized thunderstorms triggered by daytime heating. Winds across the Visayas were expected to remain light to moderate, with coastal waters staying moderate.

The agency also noted hotter conditions in other parts of the country, particularly in Occidental Mindoro, where temperatures may rise to 37 degrees Celsius from May 8 to May 11. Authorities reminded the public to avoid prolonged exposure outdoors during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and monitor heat index advisories, which may indicate higher “feels-like” temperatures due to humidity.
