Heart’s PA slams Vice Ganda, ‘Stop tagging Heart when you didn’t build the school’

In what could be one of the juiciest celeb tiffs of this season, the personal assistant of fashion icon Heart Evangelista didn’t hold back—calling out veteran host-comedian Vice Ganda for what she called a “shady mis-representation” during last week’s live broadcast.

During the October 24 broadcast of the noontime show It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda recounted visiting a school “in Heart’s province” that allegedly had zero reading materials and was in a state of disrepair. He claimed, “May pinuntahan akong lugar dun sa probinsiya nina Heart Evangelista, isang paaralan na walang reading materials. Pinagawa ko ’yong eskwelahan… Bulok ’yong paaralan doon… I cried so much when I saw that school.”

Enter Resty Rosell, Heart’s longtime PA, who erupted on Instagram Stories late Sunday (Oct 26) and went straight for the jugular. She fired back: “Hindi ka nagpagawa ng paaralan/classroom. Nag-ambag ka lang sa isang ongoing project sa PTA ng Bagacay Elem. School.” Rosell claimed Vice only covered about 60 % of the funds (released in three parts) and showed up after the rebuilding was already in progress.

She didn’t stop there: “Inako mo lahat ng credit, na-echapwera ang PTA na nagbayad rin naman doon sa pagpapagawa. Tapos nilagay mo pa sa channel mo, at monetized!” Essentially saying: you grabbed all the headlines while the actual people behind the project were sidelined.

A person in a hooded jacket stands next to another person in a blue shirt, facing a building surrounded by greenery, with text overlay addressing a controversy regarding credit for funding school repairs.

Rosell questioned why Heart’s name even needed to be pulled into the story: “Kaya naman sa susunod, ‘wag mo idamay si Heart. Kung classroom pala ang issue mo, dumulog ka sa DepEd. Bakit mo kailangang pangalanan si Heart na wala namang ginawa sa’yo? Sa tingin mo hindi sya tumutulong sa tao?”

Her message resonated with netizens—many from Heart’s home-province of Sorsogon—who felt Vice’s portrayal of the school as “bulok” unfairly dragged the region (and Heart) into a bad light. LionhearTV

As of this writing, Heart herself has remained silent—no public statement, no Instagram post, nothing. But fans and industry watchers are already speculating: Did Vice Ganda intend a subtle dig—or was it simply a spontaneous remark in a live show? Meanwhile, Heart’s loyal supporters are on guard, ready to defend their star’s reputation.

One thing is clear: when philanthropic efforts, celebrity names and live television collide, things get messy fast. And in this case, the question hanging over it all is: Was Heart’s name just gratuitously tag-along in a story that should have been about school rebuilding—and not personal brand appearances?
