A new grassroots football initiative officially got underway in Taguig, marking the start of a collaborative partnership among One Taguig Football Club, One Football Academy, and the Center for the Development of Sustainable Communities for Social Progress.
The program is designed for Taguigueño youth aged 6 to 15, providing them with structured football training while fostering discipline, teamwork, confidence, and character development. The kickoff also signaled the beginning of regular training sessions held three Saturdays each week, aimed at developing young athletes in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
The opening day of training was attended by key local leaders who shared messages of encouragement for the participants, including Congressman Jorge Bocobo, Councilor Jomil Serna, and SK Federation President Councilor Joanna Mae Pagkalinawan. Their presence underscored the city’s continued commitment to youth development through sports.

Also present was Taguig Sports Development Officer-in-Charge Benito Victoria, who has been actively supporting youth-centered sports programs across the city.
Organizers said the initiative aligns with the vision of Mayor Lani Cayetano for Taguig as a transformative, lively, and caring city, where sports are used as a platform for positive social change. Through programs like this, the city aims to empower young people, strengthen community ties, and create opportunities for growth both on and off the field.
The organizers expressed gratitude to all partners, stakeholders, and supporters who continue to back Taguig’s sports development initiatives, emphasizing that collective efforts are key to shaping stronger, healthier, and more confident young Taguigueños through sports.
