Grand Chinese New Year celebration marks 40 years of flavor and tradition

As the Year of the Wood Snake slithers in, Chowking is turning up the excitement with a twofold celebration—ringing in the Chinese New Year while marking its monumental 40th anniversary of sharing Sarap-Saya with Filipino families.

Chowking holds the Grand Chinese New Year Chowlubong on Jan. 29 with special performances of Darren Espanto and the crowd-favorite P-pop boy band, BGYO.

For decades, Chowking has been at the heart of Filipino-Chinese New Year celebrations, bringing families together over flavorful dishes like the iconic Family Lauriat and the crowd-favorite buchi. This year, Chowking levels up the celebration with a playful twist—Kung Hei Fat Chow!—a greeting that blends the spirit of abundance with the joy of sharing a Chowking meal with your loved ones.

“For 40 years, Chowking has been part of countless Filipino celebrations, and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone alongside Chinese New Year. We invite everyone to join us at our Grand Chowlubong or at any Chowking store nationwide to experience the Sarap-Saya of the season,” said Jia Du, vice president for marketing.
