The amount of assistance provided by the government and its local counterparts to families affected by the ongoing restiveness of Mount Kanlaon has now reached P149.9 million, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.
In its situation report, the agency said this includes P45.72 million for Western Visayas and P104.21 million for Central Visayas.
This assistance consists of family food packs, hygiene and sleeping kits, and financial help.
A total of 9,762 families have benefited from the assistance — 7,309 families in Western Visayas and 2,453 families in Central Visayas.
As of this posting, affected families in the two regions have totaled 12,043 or 46,259 persons in 26 barangays.
Of these, 4,407 families or 14,393 persons are being aided in 34 evacuation centers while 2,195 families or 6,987 individuals are being helped outside. (PNA)
