The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) on Wednesday, September 16, received from a charity foundation a donation of 3,500 wheelchairs which the state gaming firm said it will distribute to needy Filipinos nationwide.

The ceremonial turnover for the donation from SiGMA Foundation was held at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City and was graced by PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco and SiGMA Asia Managing Director Neil Shih.

Mr. Tengco thanked the foundation for the donation, saying the wheelchairs would help expand PAGCOR’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and enable the agency to reach more beneficiaries across the country.

“On behalf of PAGCOR, I thank the SiGMA Foundation for this generous support. These wheelchairs are now ready for distribution to beneficiaries in cities, municipalities, and provinces across the country,” he said.

The PAGCOR chief also expressed hope that the donation would lead to more collaborative initiatives between PAGCOR and SiGMA Foundation in the future.

Mr. Shih for his part said the donation reflected the shared commitment of SiGMA Foundation and PAGCOR to support individuals and communities in need.

“Today’s ceremony is meaningful because it demonstrates what can be accomplished when the private sector and government work together with a shared purpose. We hope that these 3,500 wheelchairs will make a difference in the lives of thousands of Filipinos and their families,” Mr. Shih said.

The wheelchairs will be distributed to qualified beneficiaries nationwide through PAGCOR’s CSR programs, in partnership with local government units and other stakeholders.

SiGMA Foundation is the charity arm of the SiGMA Group, an events and media organization focused on gaming, emerging tech, digital health, and affiliate marketing. It has offices in six cities nationwide, including in Manila.
