Globe shifts telco battle from data to customer experience

Globe leaders at the latest The Blueprint by Globe, where the company unveiled new ways to make connectivity more convenient, rewarding and personal for customers.

The battle for Filipino telecom customers is moving beyond signal strength, data allocations and price.

Globe is raising the stakes by building a wider ecosystem of rewards, artificial intelligence, entertainment, fitness, roaming and mobility services as it seeks to make connectivity more valuable—and harder for customers to leave behind.

At the latest The Blueprint by Globe, the company unveiled a new wave of customer-focused initiatives designed to deepen engagement across mobile and home connectivity.

The strategy reflects how competition in the telecommunications industry is evolving. As connectivity becomes increasingly embedded in work, entertainment, travel and everyday transactions, telcos are looking for new ways to differentiate themselves beyond traditional network offerings.

Globe Chief Marketing Officer KD Dizon said the company is focusing on understanding the different moments when customers depend on connectivity and tailoring services around those needs.

“Connectivity means different things at different moments for every customer,” Dizon said, noting that it can mean reaching someone important, completing everyday tasks or simply enjoying content and experiences customers value.

Among Globe’s key initiatives is the return of 917 GDay 2026, its annual customer celebration featuring rewards, surprises and exclusive experiences.

The company also introduced Globe Circle, which recognizes customers who maintain both mobile and home connectivity services with Globe and gives them access to additional perks and benefits.

Globe is also expanding its lifestyle ecosystem through partnerships with short-form entertainment platform ReelShort, fitness app Strava and Meta AI, giving subscribers more reasons to use their connectivity across entertainment, wellness and artificial intelligence-powered services.

New roaming and home internet offers are likewise being rolled out to provide customers with greater flexibility whether they are traveling abroad or staying connected at home.

The company is also extending its reach into sustainable transportation through Green GSM, an all-electric ride-hailing service using VinFast electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, Globe’s value brand TM is marking its 25th anniversary with nationwide TeaM Fair caravans featuring games, activities and prizes. The celebration will culminate in the TeaM Fair Concert on September 12, featuring Dionela and SB19.

Globe’s latest push underscores a broader shift in the telco business—from selling access to building ecosystems.

For customers, that could mean more perks and personalized experiences. For telecom companies, it means the next competitive edge may no longer come from simply offering more gigabytes.

It may come from giving customers more reasons to stay.
