Just days after a powerful earthquake disrupted lives and communications across Southern Mindanao, Globe has restored network services in nearly all affected areas while ramping up relief efforts to support communities on the road to recovery.

The telecommunications company reported that network services have been restored in 31 of the 32 municipalities impacted by the earthquake, bringing connectivity back to thousands of residents who rely on mobile and internet services for communication, emergency coordination, and access to critical information.

Globe said services are now fully operational across South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur. Technical teams remain deployed in the remaining affected areas, where intermittent service disruptions continue due to prolonged commercial power outages.

The rapid restoration reflects Globe’s ongoing efforts to maintain communication lifelines during emergencies, particularly in communities grappling with the aftermath of one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in recent years.

Keeping Communities Connected
Recognizing that communication is as essential as food and shelter during disasters, Globe has activated Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, at Libreng Wi-Fi (LTLCLW) stations in Barangay Lagao, General Santos City.

Residents can access free call, charging, and internet services at:

  • Purok Balite, Barangay Lagao
  • Hicban Village, Barangay Lagao

The facilities are operating from June 11 to 13, providing a vital communication hub for families seeking to reconnect with loved ones and access emergency information.

Satellite Connectivity Extends Support
To further assist customers in earthquake-affected areas, Globe rolled out emergency connectivity packages through its satellite-to-mobile service.

Globe Prepaid subscribers in South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are receiving free allocations of 1GB satellite data and 50 satellite SMS messages valid for seven days.

Meanwhile, Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers are being provided with 2GB satellite data and unlimited satellite SMS access for up to 60 days, ensuring connectivity even in areas where traditional infrastructure remains compromised.

The initiative builds on Globe’s broader disaster response strategy, which leverages emerging technologies to maintain communication during large-scale emergencies.

Relief Efforts Continue on the Ground
Beyond restoring networks, Globe and Ayala Foundation have also mobilized humanitarian assistance for affected communities.

An initial batch of 200 relief packs has already been distributed to families in Purok Balite, Barangay Lagao, through coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office and local government partners.

Additional support is on the way. Beginning June 16, #BrigadangAyala and the WeAreAyala Business Club (WAABC) Davao will deploy another 1,300 relief packs to communities heavily affected by the earthquake.

Ayala Foundation is likewise conducting ongoing assessments with local authorities to identify priority needs and ensure assistance reaches the most vulnerable sectors.

Recovery Powered by Connectivity
As communities begin rebuilding homes, livelihoods, and daily routines, Globe said its focus remains on restoring full service availability while supporting broader recovery efforts across Southern Mindanao.

The company is also encouraging customers nationwide to contribute to relief operations by donating Globe Rewards points through the GlobeOne app or making donations via GCash to Ayala Foundation’s earthquake response initiatives.

For Globe, the mission goes beyond reconnecting networks—it is about helping reconnect communities as they recover and move forward from disaster.
