As the nation paid tribute to the heroes of the classroom from September 5 to October 5, Globe joined the Department of Education (DepEd), the Metrobank Foundation, and the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC) in celebrating Filipino teachers—their commitment, creativity, and lifelong service to learning.
This year’s National Teachers’ Month carried the theme “My Teacher, My Hero,” culminating in a grand celebration on October 6, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The event, which gathered thousands of educators from across the country, was graced by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who led the nation in expressing gratitude to teachers for their role in shaping future generations.
Globe took the opportunity to highlight its advocacy campaign “Together 4 Teachers,” reaffirming its commitment to empower educators through technology and digital inclusion. The company underscored that teachers remain at the heart of educational transformation, especially as classrooms evolve into digital spaces.
What began as a private initiative in 2008 has since grown into a nationwide movement uniting government, industry, and civil society. This year, more than 68 organizations worked together on over 100 activities—from teacher recognition programs to digital skills training—strengthening appreciation for the teaching profession.
During the 44th NTM Coordination Meeting, Globe was recognized for its sustained support of teacher development and its role as a long-time partner of the movement. The award was presented by Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Metrobank Foundation Trustee Aniceto Sobrepeña, and Metrobank Foundation President Philip Dy, and received by Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
“Teachers are among the most powerful agents of change in our society. Their dedication and compassion mold the minds and values of the next generation,” Crisanto said. “Globe stands alongside the Department of Education and our partners in celebrating their impact, while ensuring they have the digital tools and connectivity to continue inspiring learners across the country.”
Through its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), Globe continues to equip teachers with knowledge and modules on media and information literacy, responsible online behavior, and digital wellness. The program has already reached nearly two million students and over 115,000 teachers nationwide since 2016. Complementing this, the MakeITSafe.ph platform offers ready-to-use learning materials that help educators and parents promote safer, more mindful use of technology at home and in school.
By expanding access to digital skills, connectivity, and learning innovations, Globe remains committed to advancing teacher empowerment and inclusive education—helping Filipino educators guide students toward a future driven by curiosity, compassion, and innovation.
