Globe Telecom has achieved a major sustainability milestone, becoming the first Philippine telecommunications company to earn an A rating for Supplier Engagement from CDP—the global non-profit recognized as the gold standard in environmental disclosure. The recognition names Globe as a Supplier Engagement Leader for 2024, underscoring its commitment to mobilizing suppliers and partners in advancing climate action and transparency.
The company also retained its B rating for Climate Change, outperforming both global and regional averages and aligning with industry leaders in the media, telecommunications, and data center sectors.
“Transparency drives real action. Our CDP recognition validates Globe’s strategy to embed sustainability not just within our operations, but across our entire ecosystem of suppliers and partners,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “Climate change is too big for any one company to solve alone. That’s why we are committed to mobilizing our value chain to reduce emissions and build long-term resilience.”
CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) measures how effectively companies engage their supply chains on climate-related issues. Businesses that disclose through CDP have been shown to reduce their emissions by an average of 7–10 percent within two years of an investor request. Globe’s inclusion in the leadership tier signals strong climate governance, transparent reporting, and influence over its suppliers to adopt sustainable practices.
“As the founder of environmental reporting, CDP is dedicated to building a world where people, planet, and profit are truly balanced. We appreciate Globe’s role in advancing transparency and powering corporate environmental action,” said Simon Fischweicher, Chief Delivery Officer at CDP.
In recent years, Globe has scaled up its sustainability initiatives—transitioning its sites and facilities toward renewable energy, adopting energy-efficient network technologies, and integrating sustainability criteria into supplier selection and evaluation. The company’s Supplier Code of Ethics now includes ESG screening, and training programs help vendors align with sustainable procurement standards.
Globe’s net-zero journey is guided by comprehensive greenhouse gas accounting and a science-based roadmap targeting 2030 and beyond. Oversight from the Board Risk Oversight and Sustainability Committee ensures that climate goals remain embedded in business strategy and decision-making.
The CDP recognition adds to Globe’s growing list of sustainability achievements this year, including being named among TIME x Statista’s Most Sustainable Companies 2025, Standard Insights’ Most Active Mobile Network for the Environment, and International Finance’s Best ESG Practices in Telecom for the Philippines.
By extending its environmental advocacy beyond its own operations, Globe continues to redefine sustainability in the Philippine telecom industry—proving that collaboration, accountability, and innovation can drive a greener, more resilient future.
