The most prestigious event of the World Nineball Tour is set to return to the Kingdom, continuing its status as a major highlight on the global cue sports calendar made possible with the World Nineball Tour (WNT) in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Billiard & Snooker Federation (SABSF) and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sport.
World Pool Championship’s (WPC) second successive year will be at the iconic Green Halls in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where a $1,000,000 prize fund will be contested by the world’s top 100 players, including defending world champion Fedor Gorst.
Gorst headlines a star-studded lineup featuring some of the game’s greatest talents, including former world champions Shane Van Boening, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Joshua Filler, Ko Pin-Yi, and Carlo Biado. They’ll be joined by emerging talents and 16 regional wild cards from Saudi Arabia and nearby countries.
Matchroom Sport Director, Emily Frazer commented that events like the WPC continue to set new benchmarks not only in terms of prize money, but also in prestige and global impact.
“Last year featured world-class hospitality and an exceptional set-up for the players, raising the bar for professionalism and player experience. It’s about more than competition; it’s about legacy, opportunity, and inspiring the next generation of players,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Albanian champion mentality looks to make a comeback after a defeat from Gorst at the 2024 World Pool Championship.
“If not this year, next year. If not next year, next year. I will chase the crown,” 2024 finalist Eklent Kaçi said.
The World Pool Championship will be broadcasted globally through major international partners starting July 21.
