GCash has launched its Wais Tindera Caravan to bring financial literacy programs to micro, small, and medium enterprises across the Philippines. The initiative aims to help business owners understand money management, digital tools, and financial planning.
The program focuses on practical skills such as budgeting, saving, loan management, and protection against scams. It also introduces participants to digital financial solutions that can improve operational efficiency and broaden customer reach.
CJ Alegre, Head of Sustainability at GCash, said that many MSMEs in the country close within five years due to the challenges of running a business. Through the Wais Tindera programs, the company aims to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to sustain and grow their enterprises.
The caravan recently visited Barangay Tunasan in Muntinlupa City, where mostly women business owners attended workshops. Participants learned how to manage cash flow, plan for expenses, and use digital platforms safely.
Attendee Ayrene Advincula said the program was engaging and informative. She highlighted learning about budgeting and saving and said she plans to use her new GCash account and card to set aside funds.
GCash has also expanded its Pera Outlet Plus service, allowing small and micro-entrepreneurs to provide cash-in, cash-out, and bills payment services to their communities. The platform also supports business tracking and operational management.
The company’s lending arm, Fuse, provides collateral-free loans of up to Php 350,000 using an AI-powered scoring system that evaluates digital activity as a credit score. This allows first-time borrowers to access credit safely and fairly.
GCash emphasizes security across all its services, including OTP verification and confirmation checks, and conducts public cybersecurity education campaigns such as GSafe Tayo. Alegre said these initiatives strengthen financial inclusion and promote a more resilient digital economy.
