A total of 290 fuel stations nationwide had temporarily closed as of April 26, 2026, based on monitoring by the Philippine National Police (PNP) amid ongoing concerns over oil supply.

The figure was recorded out of 14,529 gas stations across the country, with authorities continuing to coordinate with concerned agencies to track developments in the petroleum sector.

PNP said the closures were being monitored as part of broader efforts to ensure orderly operations and compliance with regulations.

Separate from the closures, authorities reported 31 cases involving alleged violations such as hoarding, profiteering, and other offenses related to fuel products.

Of these, nine were classified as hoarding cases and one as profiteering, while the rest involved other violations including illegal storage, theft, estafa, and regulatory breaches.

A total of 77 individuals were identified as suspects in connection with the reported cases, with some already facing charges while others remain under investigation.

The PNP said monitoring activities were being conducted in coordination with relevant agencies to maintain stability in fuel distribution.
