Motorists will face higher pump prices this week as oil companies announced a new round of fuel price adjustments.
In separate advisories, Seaoil and Caltex said they will increase the price of gasoline and kerosene by ₱0.20 per liter, while diesel will rise by ₱0.80 per liter. The adjustments will take effect on Tuesday, October 8 — Seaoil at 6:00 a.m. and Caltex at 6:01 a.m.
This marks the second straight week of fuel price increases, driven by global market movements. Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas earlier projected the uptick, noting that strong international demand and ongoing geopolitical tensions have pushed prices upward.
Bellas estimated that diesel prices could rise between ₱0.60 and ₱0.80 per liter and gasoline between ₱0.10 and ₱0.30 per liter — a forecast now reflected in this week’s adjustments.
With these hikes, motorists are advised to plan their trips and refueling schedules ahead of time as pump prices continue to respond to volatility in global oil markets.
