EJAE, whose soaring vocals brought life to Rumi in the animated hit KPop Demon Hunters, is giving fans a rare peek behind the curtain—this time, not from the recording booth, but from one of the most personal moments of her life.
The Grammy- and Oscars-nominated singer surprised followers after quietly posting a series of intimate snapshots on Instagram that revealed her fiancé Sam Kim’s marriage proposal.
The images, shared on Monday, Jan. 26, read less like a formal announcement and more like a scrapbook of memories, stitched together from travels, shared laughter, and a single life-changing question.
Among the photos was a scene straight out of a romance film: Kim, a respected music producer, down on one knee in what appeared to be a lush garden, slipping a ring onto EJAE’s finger.
Another image added a playful twist to the milestone—a whimsical “Harry Potter”-themed cake bearing the cheeky inscription, “Happee Engajmint Sam + Ejay,” capturing the couple’s sense of humor and closeness.
“Memories,” EJAE wrote simply, punctuated with a purple heart emoji, letting the images speak louder than any long caption could.
While the proposal photos surfaced only now, EJAE has been open about her engagement since November 2025. In a previous interview with Los Angeles radio station 104.3 MYfm, she proudly showed off her ring and shared that the wedding is set for fall 2026, signaling a new chapter unfolding alongside her rapidly rising career.
The timing of the reveal couldn’t be more fitting. Just days earlier, “Golden,” the breakout track from KPop Demon Hunters that EJAE co-wrote with Mark Sonnenblick, 24, Ido, and Teddy, earned a nomination for Best Original Song at the 2026 Oscars.
The film itself also secured a nod for Best Animated Feature, cementing its status as both a fan favorite and an awards-season contender.
As EJAE balances global recognition and deeply personal milestones, her latest post offers fans a reminder that even amid red carpets and studio sessions, some of the most meaningful moments happen quietly—one knee bent, one ring exchanged, and a lifetime ahead.
