Free LRT-2, MRT-3 rides for PH Women’s Open participants

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will provide free transportation to participants of the upcoming Philippine Women’s Open, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced Monday.

In separate advisories, the rail managements said athletes, coaches, and technical officials involved in the international sporting event can avail themselves of the free rides by presenting their official event identification cards.

The free service for the LRT-2, which runs from Antipolo to Recto, and the MRT-3, which spans North Avenue to Taft Avenue, aims to provide convenient logistics for the participants throughout the duration of the tournament.

The DOTr noted that the initiative is part of the government’s support for women’s sports and the promotion of the Philippines as a host for international athletic competitions.

The Philippine Women’s Open is expected to draw competitors from various countries, highlighting local talent on a global stage. Regular fare rates will continue to apply to the general public.
