Three minors were rescued while a foreign national was arrested in a joint operation by police and social welfare authorities in Naic, Cavite, on May 6.
The operation was led by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in coordination with local social welfare officers and municipal police.
Authorities said the action stemmed from a complaint filed by the mother of the minors, an overseas Filipino worker, after she learned of their situation.
Initial findings indicated that the suspect, a 41-year-old American national identified by the alias “Ameer,” had been keeping the minors in his custody and allegedly preventing them from returning to their family.
Investigators also said there were reports of possible sexual abuse involving the rescued minors and other children who had stayed in the same location.
Two of the children were able to leave the compound and seek help, which triggered the rescue operation.
The minors were turned over to social welfare authorities for assessment, care and intervention, while authorities prepared criminal complaints against the suspect.
Police said the case remains under investigation, with officials stressing continued coordination with welfare agencies in handling cases involving minors.
